Harry Kane scores so many goals that the record books need new pages. That is the problem. Most biography pages about him are stuck in the Tottenham years. They still call him trophyless. They list his old England tally. Many miss the 61-goal season entirely. I know this frustration well. I faced it myself when I started researching him for FootballerRank.
I have tracked Kane since his Tottenham breakthrough in 2015. I watched the 2018 Golden Boot run, the Euro finals, and his Bayern transformation. I followed his record 2025–26 season game by game. I cross-check every number against Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga, and FIFA records before I publish. This Harry Kane biography gives you his full story in one place. It covers his London roots, his Spurs years, his Bayern glory, and his England career. Every fact here is verified as of October 2026.

Early Life
Harry Kane was born on 28 July 1993 in Walthamstow, East London. Football was everything to him. He played for local club Ridgeway Rovers as a boy. Arsenal released him at nine. They thought he was not athletic enough. Tottenham signed him instead. It became the best decision in the club’s modern history.
He was not a teenage sensation. He was a grafter. He went on loan four times: Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich, and Leicester. He learned the hard way. Lower-league defenders kicked him. He kept scoring. By 2014, he was ready. Tottenham had a striker.
Club Career
Tottenham Hotspur (2009–2023): The Record Machine
Kane broke through under Mauricio Pochettino in the 2014–15 season. He scored 31 goals. He never looked back. He won the Premier League Golden Boot three times. He became Tottenham’s all-time top scorer with 280 goals. He passed Jimmy Greaves in February 2023. His 213 Premier League goals rank second all-time, behind Alan Shearer.
The trophies never came. Spurs lost the 2019 Champions League final to Liverpool. They lost finals and semi-finals. Kane carried the team for a decade. In March 2023, he became England’s all-time top scorer. He had outgrown the nearly-men tag. He needed to win. In August 2023, he joined Bayern Munich for around €100 million.
Bayern Munich (2023–Present): The Trophy Years
Kane’s first Bayern season was stunning and empty. He scored 36 Bundesliga goals. He won the European Golden Shoe. But Bayer Leverkusen went unbeaten. Bayern won nothing. The “curse” jokes wrote themselves.
The 2024–25 season ended the drought. Kane scored 26 Bundesliga goals. Bayern won the Bundesliga. It was his first major trophy at 31. The relief was visible. He had waited 15 years.
The 2025–26 season was the best of his life. He scored 61 goals and gave 7 assists in 51 games. His 36 Bundesliga goals made him top scorer for the third straight season. He won the European Golden Shoe again. His 14 Champions League goals left him one short of Mbappé’s 15. Bayern won the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal. They reached the Champions League semi-final.
The records kept falling. In October 2026, he became the fastest player to 100 Bundesliga goals. He did it in 98 games. Dieter Müller’s record had stood since the 1970s. Kane scores a Bundesliga goal every 78 minutes. Lewandowski needed 100 minutes. His 55 Champions League goals are the most by any Englishman. As of October 2026, he has 152 goals in 154 Bayern games. His contract runs to 2027. Extension talks are close to done.
International Career with England
Kane debuted for England on 27 March 2015 against Lithuania. He scored 80 seconds after coming on. It set the tone. He became captain in 2018. He now has 91 goals in 125 caps. He is England’s all-time top scorer by a distance.
2018 Russia: Golden Boot
Kane won the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot with 6 goals. England reached the semi-final. They lost to Croatia. It was England’s best World Cup run in 28 years. Kane was the face of it.
Euro 2020 and Euro 2024: Final Heartbreak
Kane captained England to the Euro 2020 final. They lost to Italy on penalties at Wembley. At Euro 2024, England reached the final again. They lost 2–1 to Spain. Kane won the tournament’s Golden Boot share with 3 goals. Two finals, two defeats. The pain was real.
2026: Third Place and History
The 2026 World Cup was Kane’s finest tournament. He scored 6 goals. England finished third. They beat France 6–4 in the playoff. It was England’s best World Cup finish since winning in 1966. Those six goals took his World Cup tally to 14. He is England’s all-time top scorer at the World Cup.
His combined 2025–26 tally was absurd: 73 goals for club and country. Only Messi’s 82 in 2011–12 beats it this century. Under Thomas Tuchel, Kane remains England’s captain and focal point.
Playing Style
Kane is the complete striker. His finishing is elite with both feet and his head. He scores penalties under pressure. He scores from distance. He holds the ball up. He drops deep and creates. His passing range is unusual for a number nine.
The numbers back it up. A goal every 78 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has outperformed his expected goals by 20 across his Bayern career. He presses, he leads, and he never hides. At 33, he reads the game better than ever. The pace dropped slightly. Everything else improved.

Kane married his childhood sweetheart Katie in 2019. They have four children. He received the MBE for services to football. He is famously low-key. No scandals, no drama. Just goals.
His legacy is secure. He is England’s greatest scorer and Tottenham’s greatest scorer. The Bayern move answered the last question. He can win the biggest trophies. The 2026 Ballon d’Or would crown it all. He would be the first Englishman to win it since Michael Owen in 2001. The ceremony is in London on 26 October. The bookmakers have him as favourite. Whatever happens, the boy Arsenal released became one of the great strikers in football history.

Conclusion
I wrote this biography because Kane’s story changed completely in Germany. For a decade, the headline was “great player, no trophies.” That headline is dead. Two Bundesliga titles, a cup double, and a 61-goal season killed it. I verify every number against Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga, and FIFA records. When he passed 100 Bundesliga goals in October, I updated this page. That is the standard I set for every biography on FootballerRank.
If you want to understand Kane, watch the 2026 World Cup playoff. Watch a 32-year-old captain drag England to third place with six goals. Then look at the 73-goal season. Only Messi has done better this century. At 33, the Ballon d’Or is the last missing piece. His story proves that class outlasts every joke about curses.
